The
City Creeks Journal is a portable introduction
to the cultural and natural history of the creeks of
Walnut Creek. It is both a field guide and a journal
for recording observations, insights, & sketches
of the natural world. Featuring the section of Walnut
Creek (creek) between Civic Park and the Iron Horse
Corridor, it introduces riparian communities as complex
systems of great beauty and significant value to wildlife
and how they are impacted by urbanization.
The Journal is the result of
a collaboration between LifeGarden and Diablo Nature
Adventures and was funded by a Walnut Creek Civic Pride
Grant.
Book Cost $10.95 (including tax) or $15
for the book with a tour coupon.
Profits from the sale of the journals will support
LifeGarden’s watershed education and creek restoration
programs.
